The Baltimore Orioles have acquired right-handed reliever Francisco Rodriguez from the Milwaukee Brewers for infield prospect Nick Delmonico.

The Orioles announced the move minutes before their game against the Royals in Kansas City on Tuesday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

Rodriguez, 31, has been serving as the Brewers' closer. He converted all 10 of his save chances. In Baltimore, he likely will set up for closer Jim Johnson and be the ninth-inning option if Johnson falters.

Baseball America rated him Baltimore's fourth-best prospect after last season. He is the son of former University of Tennessee baseball coach Rod Delmonico.
