There is little pre-training camp separation in between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith, but the New York Daily News reports the veteran and the rookie will be far apart this weekend.
, Smith—the team's second-round pick from West Virginia—won't be attending Sanchez's annual Southern California "Jets West" camp this weekend. Instead, Smith plans to remain in Florida where he's already training.
Sanchez kicked off the informal event with teammates in Mission Viejo,Billiga Nike Free, Calif.,Billiga Nike Shox, on Thursday. In the past,Nike Free, his camp has been well-attended by his offensive supporting cast—and last year the participants included Tim Tebow, now a former Jet.
Although Sanchez made it clear last month that everyone on the team was invited to participate in "Jets West" this year,Air Max, Smith was non-commital, even though he said it would be "no problem" for him to join the fun.
But unlike Tebow,Billiga Air Max, who had no chance of displacing Sanchez last offseason, Smith is working hard to unseat Sanchez and start immediately.
Given the intense battle that lies ahead for the pair,Nike Shox, the nationwide separation may be the preferred scenario for both to bring their best at Jets training camp.
